We have an experienced leadership team and are committed to providing employment opportunities in Bowen for suitable candidates.Bowen Rail Company is growing its Human Resources team, and we are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist is an integral part of the Human Resources Team. Along with ensuring end-to-end payroll processing, this position will support the development of human capital metrics from essential people management metrics to business optimisation/utilisation performance indicators and reporting. This includes but is not limited to HR core metrics; attendance /absenteeism analysis; workforce utlisation; workforce planning including diversity; compensation and benefits analysis; employee engagement/retention and continuous improvements of current payroll and integrated systems.Key Accountabilities: Responsible for the continuous improvement, development, and implementation of fit-for-purpose time and attendance solutions and integrated payroll systems and processes.Inputs into human resources information management systems to ensure accurate data collection for the purposes of analysis and reporting, including accuracy of roster data.Reviews current payroll processes and record-keeping compliance, developing, or updating existing policies and procedures, to support new or changed solutions. Manages payroll systems, including third-party providers to ensure service levels are maintained. Manages and undertakes payroll preparation including new hires, position and employee changes and exits, timesheets, and leave.Processes payroll accurately and within agreed timeframes, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, and deductions.Processes payroll reports and reconciliations as requested, producing the relevant management and statutory reporting.Ensure compliance with legislation, enterprise agreements, and contractual obligations.Proactively manages payroll-related concerns, setting up suitable systems to capture Issues and escalate as appropriate, promptly resolving and continuously improving.Manage the employee self-service portal and advise on integration/alignment opportunities with other business processes.Liaison with internal audit.Coaches and trains employees on relative systems and processes.
