Based across two sites with plans to grow the hospital consists of a diverse group of specialists, emergency vets, nurses, technicians, and support professionals that are committed to working collaboratively to provide compassionate veterinary expertise 24/7. Current disciplines include internal medicine, surgery, emergency and critical care, diagnostic imaging, theriogenology, dermatology, anaesthesia, and cardiology with immediate plans to expand services.

The Position:
Our client has a dedicated oncology suite which is designed to provide comprehensive and compassionate treatment for patients.
You will be responsible for providing exceptional care and treatment to Medical Oncology patients. You will advocate for the patients and seek a diagnosis and clinical management plan based on scientific literature. You will also be responsible for communicating with clients, referring veterinarians and other emergency and specialist veterinarians of the hospital.
Our client is committed to growing a team and oncology services and you will have the opportunity to influence the recruitment of veterinarians, the nursing team and contribute to the design of the intern and residency training programs for this service.
Requirements of the Role:
- Board qualified specialist in Medical Oncology or a registrar planning to sit for boards (Fellow ANZCVS or Diplomate ACVIM or ECVIM);
- Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent degree;
- Veterinary Science – knowledge as taught at veterinary school and as published in the relevant scientific literature;
- Complex problem solving skills;
- Excellent reading, writing and oral comprehension skills;
- Mathematical skills;
- Customer and personal service;
- Administration and management – Introductory knowledge of basic business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation and coordination of people and resources as they are relevant to a referral veterinary setting;
- Sales and marketing.
