- Coordination and management of end-to-end weekly payroll function for Australia and New Zealand
- Data maintenance, interface with time and attendance system, processing and reporting for Australia and New Zealand
- Administration, calculation, payment and reconciliation of all superannuation contributions Preparing all necessary compliance lodgements for STP2, payroll tax, superannuation.
- Answering employee’s payroll queries in an effective, clear, and supportive manner
- Assisting in several exciting and ongoing projects in the payroll area
- Assisting with month-end process, including annual and long service leave provisions, bonus provision and payroll tax
- Manage Payroll Service Point queries
- Manage year end and other periodical reporting and reconciliation
- Provide ad-hoc payroll reporting requested by HR and other internal departments
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to provide information that supports business decision making and ad hoc requests
- Support audits, both internal and external
- Provision of excellent customer service for Leaders and Employees on all payroll matters
- Log payroll/system related queries to system providers such as Dayforce and Micropay and resolve issues with the support of the provider
- Maintain accurate data in Payroll, time and attendance system;
- Checking and auditing payrolls, ensuring legislative and Award compliance;
- Calculation and payment of termination/separation payments.
- Payment and reconciliation of bonus/commission, STI (Short Term Incentive), STIP, Profit Share payments.
- Calculation, payment and reconciliation of payroll and associated tax requirements
- Develop and update payroll and time and attendance reference manual for managers
- Run training sessions for managers on Time and Attendance System
- Perform system upgrades (Time and attendance and Payroll)
- Maintenance of staff records
- Setup and process new hires, job changes, terminations, remuneration, conditions of service and other matters.
- Workers compensation co-ordination and annual reconciliation of Workers Compensation premiums
- Any other additional task required
- Certificate/ Diploma in Payroll or completed Payroll Courses for AU and NZ however not mandatory
- Experience with Micropay is a requirement. Dayforce (Time and Attendance System) and Workday - Preferred
- Previous experience in processing Payroll for New Zealand
- Legislative and award compliance – ability to interpret relevant awards and legislation, for AU and NZ is a requirement
- Understanding of General Retail Industry Award will be preferred
