- Casual Employment
- Classification: SCHADS Level 3 with a salary range of $45.05 - $48.30 per hour + Superannuation inc 25% casual loading
- Salary packaging arrangements providing tax benefits available for living and entertainment expenses increasing your take home income where part of your wage is paid tax free each pay, savings thousands in tax each year
- Location: Geelong, VIC however remote or hybrid working arrangements will be considered

About your new role
The THRIVE Peer Support Worker (PSW) is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery and development of a new eight-week employment focused wellbeing program.
The THRIVE PSW will be an integral member of the THRIVE team and draw on your lived and/or living experience of recovery to help connect with others through the delivery of the THRIVE program. For this role you must have your own Lived or Living Experience (LLE) of distress or mental ill-health and be willing to purposefully use your own story to help others further their own understanding of their recovery journey in an employment context.
The PSW role will include the planning and delivery of the THRIVE program which seeks to increase understanding of managing mental health in the workplace and provide opportunity for positive and hopeful conversations with lived experience job seekers.
- Personal lived/living experience of recovery as a family, friend or carer. Your recovery experience may be related to mental health, suicidal crisis, drugs and alcohol use or trauma
- Willingness to identify or be identified by others as a professional with lived experience of recovery
- Willingness to share and draw on lived experience purposefully in the role to instill confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery

- Lived experience of mental illness and demonstrated experience of recovery, and understanding of its impacts on employment
- Demonstrate integrity, credibility and ability to foster open communication
- Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and to prioritise multiple tasks to meet conflicting deadlines.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust to deal with sensitive and difficult situations in a diplomatic manner
- Ability to establish respectful professional relationships that have clear boundaries
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to adapt communication style to meet the needs of a diverse range of people
- Experience in delivering group programs and facilitating groups
- Strong computer and organisation skills including the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams and PowerPoint
- National Criminal History Check (police check) - disclosable outcomes considered
- Current Working with Children Check - required before commencement of work
- Current Australian Drivers licence
- Australian working rights
