We are seeking a People and Culture Manager to drive the operational strategy for one of our State Government clients based on the CBD outskirts. Reporting into the Director of People and Performance whilst managing a team of 4 and overseeing approximately 120 employees, this opportunity is a direct 12-month contract and is open to candidates seeking fulltime or 4 days per week.
Your new role
We are looking for a People and Culture Manager to join this department to provide strategic and operational leadership in all aspects of People and Culture management.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing People and Culture strategies, policies, and initiatives that align with our organisational values, goals, and priorities
- Providing expert advice and guidance to senior managers and staff on a range of HR matters, such as performance management, employee relations, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, and health and safety
- Leading and managing a small team of HR professionals and ensuring the delivery of high-quality HR services and support to our staff and stakeholders
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in HR practices and processes
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external partners, such as unions, government agencies, and service providers
What you'll need to succeed
This role is for a true Human Resources generalist who has been in a leadership role. Previous expertise will be leading and managing HR functions in a complex organisation and present demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant legislations, policies and best practices within People and Culture Management. Previous experience within the South Australian State Government is desirable as the successful candidate really needs to come in and hit the ground running.
The position is a direct contact at the ASO 8 level and can wait a 2-4 week notice period. The successful candidate must be eligible for a WWCC and Current NPC.
