Job Overview:
As a People and Culture Officer at Polytechnic Institute Australia, you will play a crucial role in shaping our organisational culture and supporting our most valuable asset – our people. Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including but not limited to:
- Managing the end-to-end recruitment process, from advertising roles to facilitating smooth onboarding experiences for new hires.
- Developing and implementing training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and performance.
- Administering employee benefits and payroll processes accurately and efficiently in accordance with Australian regulations.
- Providing guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and workplace legislation.
- Handling employee relations matters with professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives aimed at promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Conducting regular reviews of HR practices to ensure compliance with Australian employment laws and industry standards.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- years of progressive experience in HR roles, preferably in an Australian context.
- Sound knowledge of Australian employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certification from the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) is desirable.
You will also have:
- Demonstrated high-level writing skills, adaptable across various purposes, audiences, and styles.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with strong attention to detail.
- High-level judgment and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
