About the position
The role
Reporting to the Head of People and Culture, you will share responsibility for achieving team goals and priorities in line with the organisation’s strategic objectives, values, and outcomes. The People and Culture Specialist works closely with the Head of People and Culture to manage functions including on-boarding, employment relations matters, performance management, culture, and safety.
Selection Criteria
The ideal person we are looking for has:
- A qualification in Human Resources and / or a minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of HR legislation and regulations including (SCHADS) Award, NES and Fair Work.
- Lead by example and model the organisations values through own behaviour and making a positive contribution to workplace culture.
- Ability to develop strong, professional relationships with all internal/external stakeholders.
- You will also be required to undergo a NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete day-to-day People and Culture functions and duties including onboarding, employee relations, Award, and agreement interpretation.
- Assist in advising and supporting managers, supervisors and employees with People and Culture queries, including performance concerns, disciplinary cases, grievances, legislative requirements, and other IR matters.
- Develop, maintain and be a role model for a culture among staff that is open to change and supports continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the continual improvement and streamlining of internal People and Culture policies and practices.
- Provide sound advice in relation to policy development.
- Administrative tasks related to People and Culture and payroll.
