About You:
You are a skilled People and Culture practitioner with a passion for people. You have a background in the People and Culture field and have lots of experience in managing the entire recruit-to-retire employee lifecycle. You are the ultimate people person who can establish respectful relationships with all our internal stakeholders and you don’t shy away from difficult conversations and are happy to coach others in this area You’re a team player who can deliver great work on time and an invaluable support to the Manager People and Culture. Your drive and commitment to supporting leaders and team members to grow and thrive will see you succeed in this role.
About your new role:
As the People and Culture Business Partner, you'll be at the forefront of delivering and enhancing our human resource management practices for our workforce. Reporting to the Manager People and Culture you will:
- Provide accurate advice and support and ensure delivery of top shelf services that support the recruit-to-retire employee lifecycle.
- Undertake workforce planning, performance management, and succession planning.
- Drive workforce culture initiatives and provide support for the development and delivery of staff training and education.
- Coordinate the staff consultative committee.
- Partner with people leaders to support recruitment and selection, onboarding and induction, and talent management.

- Contemporary experience in People and Culture Business Partnering in a diverse organisation.
- Adaptable, flexible, and responsive to changing circumstances.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills and the ability to coordinate and develop staff.
- Ability to manage budgets and prepare accurate and timely reports, strategies, and presentations.
- Commitment to customer service excellence.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate IV in Human Resource Management or similar, or equivalent experience.
- Contemporary experience implementing strategies and plans to deliver service unit objectives within scope and in accordance with policy and processes.
- Contemporary experience delivering People and Culture services, including recruitment and selection and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and develop staff consistent with a culture of customer service excellence and Council’s values – Leadership, Excellence, Accountability and Delivery.
- Demonstrated understanding in contemporary risk management and Work Health and Safety principles and practice.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to prepare accurate and timely documentation such as reports, presentations and procedures.
- National Police Check or willingness to obtain.
- Current Drivers Licence.
Desirable:
- Experience in Local Government with knowledge of the Local Government Award, employee related legislation and staff policies.
- Knowledge of Technology One software.
