About the Role
An opportunity exists for an experienced People & Culture / Human Resources (HR) specialist to join our business to support us in our growth phase.
The People & Culture Coordinator role would likely suit someone with several years' experience in a people and HR role. While the role is office-based at our main site in North Geelong, we are willing to consider applicants who prefer to work school hours / other flexible arrangements.
The key responsibilities of the position include:
- Ability to understand the big picture of Barrier Group’s goals and align human resources strategies accordingly. Must be adept at foreseeing future challenges and opportunities in talent management that align with company growth objectives;
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR functions, including recruitment, staff development, performance management, employee relations, and compliance;
- Ability to lead by example, influence positively, and drive HR initiatives that contribute to a high-performance culture. Must be capable of gaining trust and respect from all levels of the organization, from executive to entry-level employees;
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Should be able to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy and maintain confidentiality;
- Skilled at identifying issues, analysing data, and developing pragmatic solutions, including proficiency in using HR information systems and familiarity with modern HR tools and technologies such as data analytics platforms to help in making data-driven decisions and enhancing HR processes; and
- Strong ethical principles and the ability to advocate for employees' needs while balancing the interests of the organization, including an ability to manage and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner, while promoting a positive work environment.
About You
You have 5+ years experience in similar people or HR roles. You ideally have a tertiary education in people management / HR, and have strong attention to detail and leadership skills.
You are used to working with legislative and statutory requirements, and you possess excellent communication, organisational, problem solving, literacy and numeracy skills. Finally, you display honesty, integrity and adaptability in how you approach your job.
