The role:
Reporting to the Head of People and Culture you will be proactive and collaborative in your approach. This role provides general People & Culture support to all staff across the nation, as well as maintaining HR & OHS systems and providing first level HR and Safety support and advice to our employees.
Ideally you will be process orientated, have high level attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills and be consistent in your delivery. The ability to be adaptable and resilient in a fast paced and ever-changing environment is a necessity.
Key functions of the role include
- Provide accurate and timely People & Culture support to the business.
- Prepare employee correspondence; including entering new starter records, contract changes, salary increases, terminations etc.
- Work proactively with the business, provide sound advice to employees, and answer queries on HR related matters, escalating issues where appropriate.
- Coordinate the administration actions associated with the new starter process, leaver process, probations and other HR functions as required.
- Coordinate and administer learning and development programs.
- Assist with Workplace Health & Safety initiatives.
- Assist the Head of P&C with implementation of HR initiatives and projects.
- Coordinate communication and social media campaigns via internal and external platforms, such as The Source, The SFAMC Website, Merx, Facebook, Linkedin etc, as well as create and manage the Strikeforce Newsletter
- Provide recruitment support including drafting position descriptions, job advertisements and assisting with pre-employment checking processes.
- Perform HR system reviews and maintenance when required.,
- Assist with Engagement, Social Corporate Responsibility and Communication initiatives
- Develop a sound understanding of the business operations.
- Process and manage workers compensation claims and injury management processes
Key Selection Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources.
- Working knowledge of the Fair Work Act.
- Highly developed communication skills in dealing with all levels of a business.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time.
- Steady under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident, approachable and resilient.
