About Kate & Kole

Kate & Kole was founded in 2015 by two friends, Sara and Maddy, with the goal of creating sustainable, quality, design-led fine jewellery. What started as a side-project from a home studio in Newcastle, has evolved into a fully-fledged Australian-born ring concierge and jewellery brand, with signature collections, engagement and wedding suites and a custom jewellery design service.

We take pride in using traditional jewellery practices combined with modern technologies, while prioritising customer relationships, offering guidance and education throughout the process. Our mission is to make every customer feel valued, allow them to purchase with confidence, and introduce them to a modern practice of jewellery marking.

From the first consultation to the final product, we strive to provide an enjoyable and memorable experience.

About the Role

Kate & Kole are seeking an experienced People & Culture/Operations Coordinator to provide support and direction to our growing team. Located on site at their recently expanded boutique Honeysuckle studio this role will also entail facets of Business Management support as you assist in the development of our teams and business as a whole.

Key Duties

  • A true generalist role partnering with the Leadership team to ensure compliance to all People & Culture policies.
  • Work, with the broader Kate & Kole team to support the cyclical HR review processes, including probation, annual remuneration reviews and, where applicable, Performance Improvement Plans. 
  • Support hiring managers and Kate & Kole team with recruitment-related activities as well as assist with recruitment administrative tasks.
  • Driving retention solutions and supporting the ongoing development of our people
  • ER/IR support to operational leaders including grievance, complaints and investigations.
  • Drive employee recognition and performance within the contract
  • Assist with development of and ensure commitment and compliance to Kate & Kole People & Culture Standards
  • Partner with the team leaders in providing HR guidance, support and advice
  • Experience in driving employee engagement activities and the ability to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and enhance retention
  • Manage supplier interactions, quotes, and quality standards, aiming for cost-effective procurement
  • Identify administrative needs and provide solutions and recommendations by consulting, establishing policies, procedures and systems that align with achieving departmental goals and objectives
  • Observing, reviewing and analysing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas where improvements could be made
  • Must be an enthusiastic & highly motivated individual with a passion for people
  • Exceptional organisation, planning and communication skills.

Essential experience

  • Minimum 3+ year Human Resources/ Office Management experience, Office coordination/Management or similar role.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated workplace experience
  • Outstanding relationship building skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your time efficiently and effectively
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • The ability to influence change in a diverse network
  • Demonstrated knowledge of retail operational processes
  • A proactive and highly detail orientated individual who thrives under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, work with demands to meet deadlines and be flexible in responding to changing work priorities.

Desirable qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ year Human Resources/ Office Management experience, Office coordination/Management or similar role.
