Our client is a not-for-profit organisation who has evolved to provide health and social services to young individuals & their families across the Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay & Darling Downs regions. They are currently seeking a People & Performance & Lead to support their well-established Human Resource team on the Sunshine Coast.
Your new role
The People & Performance Lead reports to the People & Performance Coordinator and is responsible for providing accurate and timely HR advice and support to internal and external stakeholders. This role, whilst generalist in nature, has a strong focus on recruitment, selection and onboarding activities, and providing day to day guidance to managers and staff on employment law and Award related matters.
Key duties of the role involve:
- Provide advice, in line with legislation and internal policies and procedures, to employees and managers on performance / conduct related matter.
- Cary out straight forward workplace investigations in line with the company’s policies and legislation.
- Provide general employment and award advice to employees and managers.
- Provide effective support across the employee lifecycle including recruitment & onboarding, employee relations, reward and recognition and learning & development.
- Coordinate recruitment activities including posting job ads, shortlisting, pre-screening, scheduling interviews, candidate management, references and preparing offers.
- Provide advice to managers and staff on pay levels adhering to relevant awards and ensuring consistency across the business.
- Work with hiring managers to draft, review and maintain accurate position descriptions.
- Provide support, guidance, and direction for employees seeking support.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will have degree qualifications within Human Resources, as well as:
- Sound working knowledge of employment law and relevant awards (essential).
- 2–5 years’ experience at HR Advisory level or similar.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- The ability to prioritise effectively, adhere to tight deadlines, and display a flexible work approach.
- The ability to display excellent judgement, drive, and initiative within the workplace.
