ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you a passionate HR professional looking to make a real difference in a dynamic and purpose-driven organisation? Gateway Health currently are seeking a permanent full time People and Culture Advisor who can be based in Wodonga or Wangaratta.

Reporting into the Executive Director People and Innovation, the People and Culture (P&C) Advisor has an integral role in providing expert employee relations and occupational health and safety advice and practical solutions to complex workplace matters. You will support the leadership team to ensure that our employee relations and safety programs, policies and procedures are aligned to legislative requirements, and business needs; whilst also balancing supporting our people to achieve the right outcome.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Employee and Industrial Relations, Organisational Development and Workplace Health & Safety within P&C team.
  • Support organisational structure changes and performance improvements. 
  • Offer guidance on employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary processes, grievances, restructures, and change proposals.
  • Interpret and implement P&C policies, undertake an investigatory role relating to internal complaints and disciplinary issues,
  • Continuously improve P&C and OH&S practices and processes, recommending and implementing changes as needed. 
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with union representatives.
  • Enhance business performance through an engaged workforce, focusing on culture and well-being to promote employee engagement and retention.
  • Oversee all aspects of WH&S.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a collaborative team player with a strong people mindset who will contribute to the delivery of initiatives intended to improve business outcomes. You will have proven experience in an industrial relations role and have worked with multiple enterprise agreements; dealt with different stakeholders; and have an ability to work autonomously. Tertiary qualifications in HR Management, Industrial Relations, law or a related discipline or extensive experience in Human Resource Management at a senior level

  • Demonstrable experience in the provision of HR and OHS policy advice.
  • An excellent knowledge of the Australian Industrial Relations environment.
  • Well-developed problem-solving ability.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management capability.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, including the ability to translate complex and technical employee relations issues into pragmatic and plain language solutions fit to audience at all levels.
  • Above all, you will be willing to roll your sleeves up and manage multiple priorities at any one time. You’ll have a passion for what you do and be a custodian of organisational values and Culture.

Victorian Stand Alone Community Health Services (Health and Allied Services, Managers & Administrative Officers) Multiple Enterprise Agreement 2022-2026

Classification Managers and Administration Grade 5
