About your new job:Join our team at Armidale Rural Referral Hospital as a Perioperative Registered Nurse! In this specialized role, you will utilise your previous experience deliver perioperative services to patients within a supportive team environment that prioritizes exceptional patient care experiences.
Your proficiency in decision-making, critical thinking, time management, and communication will be pivotal to your success in this role. Located in Armidale, our hospital boasts four newly renovated operating theatres. Upon joining, you'll receive comprehensive orientation support through our buddy system, guided by our clinical nurse educator, with ongoing supernumerary support.
You will have the flexibility to divide your week between perioperative care and recovery, with working hours structured as follows:
Perioperative Care Shifts:
- Monday – Friday: 0800hrs - 1630hrs OR 1030hrs - 1900hrs / On call hours - 1830hrs - 0800hrs
- On-call: Saturday - Sunday 0800hrs - 2000hrs (only one day on the weekend) on your days off
Recovery Care Shifts:
- Monday – Friday 0900hrs - 1730hrs OR 1100hrs - 1930hrs / On-call: Saturday or Sunday between 0900hrs – 1730hrs

As a Rural Referral Hospital serving a population of 70,000, our facility offers specialized services across various medical disciplines, including medicine, general surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, obstetrics/gynaecology, dental, minor urology, anaesthetics, paediatrics, rehabilitation, and radiology. Additionally, visiting services are available in oncology, renal medicine, cardiology, and psychogeriatrics. Armidale Hospital is home to numerous General Practitioners with admitting rights, further enhancing our comprehensive healthcare offerings.

Information for Applicants:
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Acceptable proof of COVID-19 vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement (IHS), or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate, or AIR COVID-19 and Influenza IHS. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
