The role:
The Short Stay Suite is a component of the Perioperative Precinct and incorporates Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA), Holding Bay, Same Day Discharge (SDD), 19 bed Surgical Ward and a state-of-the-art standalone Endoscopy Suite.
The Short Stay Suite is a face paced, high turnover unit which will provide you with many learning opportunities across a diverse range of areas.
As a member of the Short Stay Suite operational support team, you will be responsible for:
- Providing Support Services to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Short Stay Suite
- Contributing to, and participating as a member of the health team
- Assisting with the transportation and manual handling of patients
- Cleaning, administrative and other Support Services

Details of Appointment
Multiple permanent full time and part time, shift-worker position working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $60,666 - $63,222 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
- Salary range is in accordance with Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award
Eligibility:
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty
- Identification check
- Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
