We are looking for a Network and Desktop Helpdesk Support Engineer to become part of our busy team to provide IT support to a variety of clients Australia wide. You will need a positive outlook and a willingness to provide a high level of customer service and support. Ongoing hands on training provided. This is a perfect opportunity for getting exposure to every facet of IT support and to sharpen your skills in all aspect of IT Infrastructure hardware and software support with opportunities to progress.
Technologies you will work with every day include VMWare, Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Server Systems 2012/2016/2019/2022 (Windows 8.1/10/11, Exchange Server, IIS, Terminal Severs, SQL, Sharepoint etc), Sonicwall Appliances SGMS/ Firewalls/Routers, Backup, Virus Protection and Firewall Security Systems, Server hardware, NAS and more.
Roles:
•You will be a "go to person" for end user support and you will be responsible for a wide mixture of IT system support and administration
•Provide first point of contact, record incoming support jobs accurately into the logging system
•Provide 1st and 2nd level support via phone/email/remote support tools to end users, this will include Desktop, Notebooks, Thin Clients,mobile devices, iPhones/iPads, Android and Windows phones, network printers, Multi-Function Devices, commercial and home wireless access point systems, ADSL/Cable/NBN/EOC/Fibre connections
•Creation of Accounts within Active Directory and setting up new user Desktop profiles
•Sound ability to quickly identify and diagnose Microsoft application, web, computer, networks issues and resolve these logically in a short time frame
•Assist other team members in troubleshooting problems
Qualities (Essential):
•Excellent Interpersonal and high level customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical details/concepts to non-technical end-users
•Strong written and verbal communication skills are a necessity
•Experience in Active Directory, Servers and User Management is essential
•Experience with Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Environments
•Experience with Microsoft Office Packages (Office 2010 to Office 2021 , Office 365 Cloud products)
•Experience with Desktop Hardware and Networks Infrastructure
•High level of professionalism
•Ability to perform under time and results pressure from the customer
•Ability to work in a "pressure cooker" environment during busy periods, prioritising jobs and managing workload.
•Punctual, Positive and Resourceful
•Must be able to work in a team environment and also willing to learn and transfer skills, in a dynamic working environment
•Can do attitude with the willingness to further develop skills and a quick learner preferred.
•Experience with Helpdesk Support
Additional Skills and Knowledge (An Advantage)
•Knowledge of backup products (Symantec Backup Exec, ShadowProtect), SP Image Manager and NAS to NAS Sync)
•Knowledge of corporate antivirus products (Symantec Endpoint Protection, Trend Micro Worry Free Business Security, Sophos, Kaspersky, Cylance)
•Knowledge of VMware ESX virtual infrastructure, Microsoft Hyper-V
•Knowledge of configuring Windows Server (Server 2012 to Server 2022), Windows Essential Server & Desktop (Windows 8.1 to Windows 11) Operating Systems
•Knowledge of MYOB / Quickbooks / Handisoft installations
•Experienced in similar support role and environment preferred.
•Tertiary education in Information Technology
•Have very strong Networking & Technical Skills
•Have an ambition and desire to grow your career and improve both your technical and professional skills.
•Specialised Software application experiences will be an advantage.
•Ideal Candidate if also experienced in Accountants Accounting packages like MYOB, BGL, HandiSoft etc
