MDS is seeking to employ Permanent Part Time andCasual Mental Health Support Workers and experienced Support Workers who have worked with participants with behaviors that can escalate, to provide 1:1 supports, within our Individual Services program. This position is required to provide direct support and work in partnership with participants in all areas of daily living, recreation, communication, community participation and social interaction. Support may be provided within participants home, or in the community.
Key Responsibilities for this position include:
- Supporting people with a disability and their family/carers in achieving life learning, recreation, employment and educational goals and aspirations
- Engage with people with complex care needs, including lived experience of mental illness, to support achievement and encourage further independence
- Provide personal care, living skills, transport, other services and support
The successful applicant will have:
- HLTAID003 Provide First Aid Qualification - current within 3 years
- HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - current within 12 months
- NSW Driver's Licence (P1 or above)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Covid – 19 Vaccination (2 x shots)
- Experience working with people with a disability
- Experience working with people who have a lived experience of mental illness
The permanent positions have various hours per week available (3-38 hours) casual position hours will vary depending on the needs of participants. Shifts are offered across Monday-Sunday. Regular shifts are able to be provided for the right candidate 11am - 3.30pm, Monday, Tuesday Thursday and Friday. Roles are covered under the SCHCADS Award Level 2 ($30.46 -$33.23) Permanent/$38.08 - $41.54 Casual ). Permanent roles are also entitled to Annual leave and Salary packaging.
