Hello! I am a 25-year-old Indigenous female living with Foetal Alcohol Syndrome and an Intellectual disability living in Victor Harbor. I am looking for motivating Support Workers to assist me in achieving my NDIS goals. My hobbies include playing football, going outdoors, and enjoying a nice meal for dinner. I am involved in the Victor Harbor ladies football team and attend training and games regularly.The Role
An Opportunity is available to join my team of engaging Support Workers who help to facilitate my daily life. My Support Workers assist me on a 1 to 1 throughout the day.Due to some of the challenges I face, I can have difficulties managing my emotions and can become elevated frequently and suddenly. In this instance I would like you to remain calm and follow the strategies outlined in my positive behaviour plan. I can find it frustrating learning new tasks and my concentration can lapse after 10 minutes. Please show patience with me. It is important that my team communicate well with all stakeholders to ensure I receive quality support.Key responsibilities:
- Assist me with Assisted Daily Living Tasks
- Personal care prompts
- Transporting to work and sporting events and training.
- Support me to achieve my goals to reach my potential in all facets of my life.
- Support my life skill development through proper implementation of established plans and programs to support the achievement of goal outcomes for me.
- Actively engage in person centred active support.
- Maintain accurate records.
I am looking for someone to support me on a Part Time basis.My shifts are on a 2-week rotating roster.Week 1 would be Wednesday 1600-2300, Monday 1600-2200 Passive 2200-0600, Tuesday 1600-2200 Passive 2200-0600Week 2 Saturday 1100-1800 Sunday 1100-1800 Monday 1600 - 2200 Passive 2200-0600, Tuesday 1600-2200 Passive 2200-0600The ideal candidate will have:
- NDIS Worker Screening or DHS Disability related check
- Working with Children Clearance
- Current Driver's Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability/Aged Care) or other relevant qualification
