- Play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of this community Early Learning Centre rated ‘Exceeding’ in the National Quality Standards.
This Albert Park centre provides full-time and part-time Education and care for 40 children at any one time and up 70 children each week and has a current rating by Department of Education and Training as ‘Exceeding’ the National Quality Framework.
Your duties will include;
- Answering telephone enquiries and manage the Director's diary.
- Communicating with the Director, staff, and parents regarding administrative issues.
- Liaising with parents in the absence of the Director.
- Attending staff meetings, take minutes, and participate in workshops and professional development sessions.
- Maintaining filing and archiving of documentation.
- Administer enrolments, including allocation of places, sending enrolment documents, and updating relevant records.
- Using the Keiko System, submit daily attendance reports and handle inclusion support claims.
- Assist in maintaining food menus, booking sheets, and routine charts.
- Updating the Centre's website when required.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as responding to general enquiries, ordering stock, handling stationary requests, distributing correspondence, annual evaluation surveys.
- Complete reporting templates and submissions as required.
- Occupational Health and Safety; submit maintenance reports when required and provide weekly and monthly reports on OH&S.
- Practice, monitor and record Emergency procedure drills for the Centre.
You will need to have strong written and verbal communication skills, work effectively in a collaborative team environment, enjoy engaging effectively with parents/guardians and children as well as have a strong attention to detail, high level of organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
This is the perfect part-time role working school hours (9am to 3pm) 3 days a week. Required days are Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. The ideal candidate will love working in an environment surrounded by little ones, aged 0 to 5 yrs old. Previous experience working in a school environment will be highly regarded but not essential. Based in Albert Park the centre is close to public transport and has free all day on-street parking available.
