We are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Personnel Security Vetting Officers to join a reputable federal government department. As a Personnel Security Vetting Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the client's security clearance processes for locally engaged staff at overseas missions. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in government security and investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake and coordinate security clearance vetting for locally engaged staff in collaboration with the department's panel of outsourced vetting service providers.
- Liaise internally and externally to initiate, monitor, progress, quality assure, and finalise security clearance processes.
- Provide policy and procedural advice on security clearance requirements in accordance with the Australian Government.
- Perform various administrative duties to support security clearance processes and investigations, including developing reporting and assurance frameworks.
- Work closely with the client's network to transition processes and develop innovative approaches to managing caseloads in online systems.
- Essential: Cert IV Government (Personnel Security) OR Cert IV Government Investigations.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a fast-paced office environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to work proactively and with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of the Australian Government's Protective Security Policy Framework.
- Familiarity with the client's overseas network and environment.
- Experience with government records management and filing systems.
