We have an opportunity for a Pest Animal Management Support Officer to be part of our Biosecurity Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The role supports priority actions of Pest Animal programs, such as the National Feral Deer Action Plan, and other State-wide priority projects. The role helps promote best practice, community awareness, participation, and facilitation of vertebrate Pest Animal control in environmental and agricultural management programs.
The role contributes to delivering the agency’s priorities including:
- Managing adverse events effectively and helping primary industries and communities improve preparedness, resilience and recover well
- Build partnerships with industry, stakeholders, research organisations and regional communities
- Growing regions by supporting key regional development drivers and growing opportunities available to our regional communities

Special Conditions
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
- Opportunity up to June 2025.
An appropriate Degree in Science, Natural Resource Management or equivalent
Requirements
- Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive.
- Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel will be required.
- You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations.
- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
PO2 - $86,950 min - $96,223 max per annum, plus superannuation
