About the Role
A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, dynamic Grade 4 Physiotherapist to lead and innovate our Subacute Physiotherapy services at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.
Reporting to the Physiotherapy Manager this position will lead the Subacute Physiotherapy Stream, supported by Grade 3 senior clinicians, to drive the provision of high quality Physiotherapy services to SVHM patients. The successful candidate will possess expert clinical knowledge and robust peer networks, as well as strong stakeholder engagement capabilities, sound communication skills and a passionate commitment to the development of self and others.
The Grade 4 Physiotherapy Team Leader is responsible for fostering clinical excellence in Neurological physiotherapy service provision at St Vincent’s Health. They will be responsible for the clinical and strategic leadership of the Physiotherapy service in the Subacute stream, ensuring the highest quality of clinical service provision in maintained, as well as managing an individual clinical caseload and providing high quality physiotherapy consultation services in Neurological Rehabilitation Physiotherapy. In conjunction with the Physiotherapy manager and supported by Grade 3 senior clinicians, they will provide operational leadership and management for the designated stream and for the broader Physiotherapy team as directed. They will oversee the provision of high quality clinical education for both staff and students and foster a culture of research excellence and continuous improvement.

Classifications for this position will range from Physiotherapist Grade 4 VB24 - VB27 ($121,186 - $133,530 per annum, pro rata).
Duties include
Ensure the highest standard of Physiotherapy clinical service provision is upheld through regular review and update of clinical service provision aligned to current best evidence.
Oversee (and directly provide) delivery of high quality, effective clinical supervision for Physiotherapy team members and students.
Determine and implement strategic vision for Subacute Physiotherapy team
Implement effective leadership of change management initiatives
Appropriately represent Physiotherapy and/or Allied Health within the organisation at relevant meetings and forums and external to the organisation
Coordinate research and program evaluation activity within the Subacute team in conjunction with the Physiotherapy Manager and Physiotherapy Department Research Co-ordinator.
Skills and Experience
Minimum of 10 years clinical experience
Completion of relevant Post Graduate qualification (or PhD candidates nearing completion)
Knowledge of Physiotherapy management and clinical service provision in an subacute health care setting
Acknowledged by their professional peers as a clinical expert and has broad and relevant clinical experience in their area of expertise
Demonstrated effective leadership, management and networking skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across teams and the wider organisation
Extensive experience in the supervision and professional development of physiotherapists, students and support staff.
The applicant must hold a current national criminal history check, or be willing to obtain.
