About the role
The Tweed Hospital is seeking a Senior Orthopaedic Physiotherapist to join their Allied Health team. This role works primarily within the orthopaedic ward at The Tweed Hospital, however at times there may be a requirement to assist with the coverage of other acute areas within the hospital if priorities dictate. Weekend work is an essential and defining component of this position. The position requires the incumbent to work Saturdays and Sundays. This position will transition to the Tweed Valley Hospital in May 2024
This vacancy is maternity leave relief for an initial period of up to 152weeks for 14 hours per week; the hours and period of employment may change according to the maternity leave requirements. There is also the possibility of an extension at same / reduced hours.
If you have/are:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Physiotherapy and registration as a Physiotherapist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). To be appointed as a Level 3 Health Professional evidence must be provided of three years' clinical experience and demonstrated experience of extensive specialist knowledge or a high level of broad generalist knowledge within the discipline as defined by the award definitions of a level 3 practitioner
- Ability to utilise problem solving skills and a multidisciplinary team approach in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care and apply professional judgement when performing novel, complex or critical tasks within the scope of practice of the position
- Effective communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others
- Knowledge and understanding of person centred care, quality improvement and evidence based practice and ability to supervise professional, technical and support staff
