I am pleased to be partnering again with Moira Shire Council. Due to internal promotion, they are looking to fill the position of Statutory Planning Coordinator to take responsibility for managing and delivering a range of diverse statutory planning services.
Supporting the Manager Planning in efficiently overseeing Council's planning functions, this role involves coordinating day-to-day planning operations, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, and contributing to strategic planning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily statutory planning operations and manage planning contractors.
- Deliver high-quality reports for decision-making and influence outcomes through delegation.
- Guide and assess staff performance, ensuring timely communication of necessary information.
- Assist in developing and managing the department's annual budget.
- Monitor planning processes to ensure optimal service delivery and compliance with regulations.
- Manage complex planning projects, represent Council at VCAT and other relevant courts, and provide professional planning advice to stakeholders.
- Engage in strategic planning and community consultation, liaising with government agencies and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to corporate planning, identifying long-term opportunities and addressing challenges.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Degree in Planning or a related field with at least five years of relevant senior-level experience, preferably in Local Government.
- Thorough understanding of the Victorian planning system and ability to implement planning policy.
- Strategic thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills in a complex environment.
- Experience in business improvement and effective communication with stakeholders.
Licenses and Requirements:
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
- Satisfactory National Police Check.
