Job description

Lead investigations and enforcements of land use and development
Open to full-time or part-time applicants
$96,040 per annum, pro rata (plus super and RDO)

A little bit about the role
We have an exciting opening to join our Planning and Placemaking department within the Urban Living directorate at the City of Boroondara, as an Investigations Officer. Our goal is to shape our City so that it is liveable, safe, sustainable and enjoyable. We protect neighbourhood character, amenities and the health of the community to deliver high quality outcomes and community prosperity.

Reporting to the Coordinator Urban Planning, the Planning Investigations Officer will be responsible for the investigation and enforcement of Acts, Regulations and Local Laws relating to land use and development within the municipality. The position provides efficient and timely advice relating to enforcement and administration matters. We think customer experience, take pride in serving the community and the role always provides a considered, courteous and professional approach.

The position is a fixed-term contract to 30 June 2024 with potential for an ongoing role. The position is also open to both full-time and part-time applicants.

A little bit about you
You have background experience in a statutory planning environment. With this you bring strong technical knowledge and can apply planning legislation with law enforcement procedures.

You are a great communicator with an empathetic approach. Your well-developed conflict, negotiation and problem-solving skills will be highly regarded in this role. You possess good written and verbal communication skills and can produce accurate and comprehensive reports and external correspondence. You have sound administrative skills. We will value your positive outlook and collaborative manner which will see you thrive in your work and contribute to a positive team culture.
