We are seeking an experienced Planning officer for an immediate start with one of the local councils in Adelaide. The successful candidate will initially be working from their local office for approximately 6-8 weeks.
Responsibilities:
- Undertaking the assessment of the most complex and politically sensitive applications
- Providing high-level pre-lodgement development advice
- Providing planning advice to the prospective applicants
- Providing assistance to the team leader with the coordination and provision pf planning services for council
- Ensuring that the council's obligations are met
- Responding to general planning and development enquiries from the community
The successful candidates will have:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Competency to read and intrepret drawings and detail relating to development applications
- Previous work experience in a similar organisation or work environment
- Degree in regional planning ( desirable)
