A State Government Entity is looking for a Planning Support Officer to join their team from 1st July - 13th Sept.
  • Admin based role for development advisory unit
  • Hybrid working - 2 days in office-3 days from home
  • Laptop Provided
  • Hourly rates - $47-$50 p/h plus super
  • 2 months full time hours

About the position
Reporting to the Team Leader, Reporting to the Senior Planning and Development Advisor, the Development Advisory Support Officer is a member of a team responsible for providing expert and influential advice on planning and development matters.
Working in a fast-paced environment, you will use your initiative to monitor, prioritise and manage workflow across the Unit and facilitate the triage and assessment of planning and earth resources applications referred to by local government and planning authorities (ERR).

This is an exciting role for a newcomer or graduate that wants to contribute to the success of the Workplace. Working under the direction of the Senior Planning and Development Advisor, you will actively contribute to a positive organisational culture and achieve the highest standards of performance and integrity; fostering genuine partnerships across all levels of government, industry, and community to deliver organisational outcomes.

Key selection criteria
1. Experience and qualifications
• A relevant tertiary degree and/or post graduate qualifications is desirable.
• Experience in providing business support is desirable, preferably in a planning environment.
2. Knowledge and skills
• Knowledge of the Victorian Planning System.
• A broad understanding of environmental regulation as it relates to pollution and waste is desirable.
3. Capabilities
• Demonstrated capability to deliver projects / programs to plan in a fast paced environment, including the
management of risks, prioritisation of tasks, monitoring of workflow; and contributing to the evaluation of
project/program effectiveness; use of initiative to identify, communicate, and address delivery risks and
opportunities to improve organisational outcomes.
• A proven record of achievement in a similar role contributing to organisational excellence, high standards of
performance and a positive organisational culture.
• Demonstrated ability to apply your skills and experience to advance organisational outcomes, with a focus on
accountability for the execution and quality of results through professionalism, persistence, and transparency.
• Proven ability to work as an effective member of a cohesive team, with a demonstrated commitment to the
successful delivery of the highest organisational priorities; proven capability to build and sustain enduring
relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of outcomes and achievement of goals and targets
• Ability to think outside the square, a willingness to try new things and a genuine desire to learn, share knowledge
and make a difference.
