We have an opportunity for a Plant Biosecurity Officer to be part of our Biosecurity Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The Plant Biosecurity Officer coordinates and delivers a range of technical customer and administrative services that support and underpin the efficient and effective functions of the Plant Biosecurity Operations.
The position utilises a broad working knowledge of the Plant Health Act 2009, the Plant Quarantine Standard South Australia, and state and national quarantine conditions and requirements to provide accurate and timely information and advice to internal/external customers and stakeholders.
The Plant Biosecurity Officer is also authorised to issue Plant Health Import Certificates and to conduct preliminary assessments of suspect plant pest specimens. The position maintains day-to-day management of the administrative system and processes, including administering accounts receivable and providing reports regarding debtor management and cost recovery, as well as the day-to-day operations of the Plant operations communication area.

Special Conditions
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.

- Desirable: Experience in customer service, accounts, biosecurity, or plant health.

- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
ASO3 - $66,590 min - $70,968 max per annum, plus superannuation
