We have an opportunity for a Biosecurity Officer, Aquatic Pests to be part of our Biosecurity Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The primary purpose of the role is to co-ordinate, oversee and control a tailored fish kill management program for the River Murray, to provide professional support to groups undertaking fish kill preparedness and clean-up activities. The role will also contribute to fish kill investigation activities.
The position will liaise with stakeholders including state and local government, regional landscape boards, land managers, community groups and the public. The role will provide technical and planning advice; develop response extension materials; identify and support community leaders in management; provide individualised support to local governments; engage contractors; and coordinate project budgets and resources.

Special Conditions
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
- 12-month opportunity
- Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive.
- Intrastate travel, overnight stays and out of hours work may be required.
- You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations.
- The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
OPS5 - $80,877 min - $86,461 max per annum, plus superannuation
