About the Role
MinRes is a globally significant lithium producer with world-class assets. These include two of the world's largest hard-rock lithium mines, Mt Marion and Wodgina, as well as the recently acquired Bald Hill operation. We also have strategic partnerships with international leaders in the production and supply of lithium battery products.
Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, you will work on an 8:6 roster and assist in the management and optimisation of metallurgical processes within the processing plant at our Mount Marion mine in Western Australia
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Helping analyse and improve metallurgical processes, including screening, dense medium separation, gravity Reflux / UCC separation, and dewatering.
- Ensuring that metallurgical outputs meet required specifications, including assisting with quality control procedures and laboratory testing.
- Assisting with research to explore new methods and technologies for metal extraction and processing whilst staying up to date with industry trends and advancements.
- Making sure all operations comply with workplace safety protocols and environmental regulations and standards.
- Preparing reports on process performance and participating in meetings to discuss improvements and challenges.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Our ideal candidate will have at least one year of post-graduate metallurgy experience, including fixed-plant operational experience.
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:
- A tertiary qualification in metallurgical or chemical engineering.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of metallurgy.
- While not essential, previous exposure to lithium or flotation would be beneficial.
