- Design and maintain stable and reliable platform infrastructure for efficient development environments.
- Automate daily development tasks and simplify operations by creating and updating tools and scripts.
- Collaborate with the Technical Lead and product owner to prioritise improvements based on developer feedback and data analysis.
- Contribute to developing internal processes and best standards for developer platforms and experience.
- Led the application deployment automation for production and pre-prod environments to reduce cognitive load associated with software delivery and improve delivery performance.
- Find opportunities for process and efficiency improvements and recommend solutions for implementation.
- Work in tendem with the developer platform team and broader technology foundation tribe.
- Stay updated with developer trends and technologies and run PoCs/experiments to validate technologies and hypotheses. Work closely with the broader team to introduce new practices and technologies into our ecosystem as appropriate.
- Advocate for our developers by capturing their feedback and concerns and promoting best standards to drive improvements to the Developer Experience at Optus.
- Thorough comprehension of DevOps practices and methodologies, with a track record of applying them in other organizations and enterprises.
- Proven understanding of automation practices in the development, build, and deployment phases of the software engineering life cycle.
- Proficient w/ Unix shell scripting languages such as BASH & Groovy.
- Proven understanding working with database technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
- Proven understanding of in containerization technologies, specifically Docker.
- Have practical hands-on experience working with configuration management tooling such as Ansible, Chef and using such tools to configure services at scale.
- Proven understanding in using IaC tooling to manage infrastructure, Terraform preferred.
- Experienced in using automated testing frameworks and tooling, specifically integrating such tools into CI pipelines.
- Strong experience with at least one major cloud platform, with a preference for AWS or GCP.
- Proficient with observability & monitoring tools, such as including Xray, CloudWatch, Dynatrace, ELK, and others.
- High proficient working with source control management systems such as Git.
- In depth understanding of and proven experience in working with CICD platforms and developing pipelines to test, build and deploy code.
- Skilled in working within Agile delivery teams and frameworks.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage tasks and seeing them through to completion efficiently and effectively.
- A motivated self-starter with a robust work ethic who excels in fast-paced, ever-changing settings. Assumes responsibility for projects and assignments.
- Proficient in organizing and navigating a complicated technical environment.
- Works collaboratively with a customer-centric focus, able to establish relationships across a diverse set of backgrounds and hierarchies.
- Proficient in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
