About the role:In this role you will report to the Senior PMO Analyst and be accountable for driving capability uplift and growth within the Portfolio Management team. The role will have a strong focus on ensuring the Program and Project Management Framework and associated Methodology is adhered to.Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Extensive experience in portfolio/program management and reporting, particularly in overseeing large-scale, complex multidisciplinary programs.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing various portfolio/program methodologies, monitoring and reporting tools, and techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in program and project management, coupled with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain the Transformation governance framework and controls for the portfolio, ensuring robust monitoring and control procedures are in place, including tolerance levels and escalation protocols.
  • Develop standards, processes, and templates in collaboration with the business to enhance capability and ensure the success of Transformation initiatives. This may involve conducting training sessions focused on timeline and milestone development, rigour testing, and exception-based reporting.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to Executive Sponsors, Initiative Owners, and Delivery Leads throughout the portfolio lifecycle.
  • Assist the business (Program/Project Owners and Leads) in developing and gaining approval for program and project business cases, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality documents. This includes working closely with the business to establish a clear alignment from problem statements to desired outcomes and benefits.
  • Define guidelines for business case estimation and validation, including driving the development and implementation of a benefits framework.
About you:
  • 3 + years' experience in supporting the EPMO in the management and governance of the organisation's portfolio of programs and projects.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of portfolio management processes to ensure effective management and reporting of the portfolio of projects.
  • Skills with conducting portfolio level reviews at key points to provide assurance that define portfolio processes.
  • Ability to support the Head of Transformation to plan and co-ordinate the overall program timeline, key milestones, and deliverables to stakeholders with a focus on Board and executive leadership team.
  • Proven experience with the assessment and prioritization of initiatives, and measurement criteria for success and progress
  • Ability to communicate and plan for inter-dependencies across transformation workstreams as well as business unit top priorities.
  • Knowledge of how to monitor key program milestones and proactively assess issues and risks to dates deadlines and targets.
  • Worked closely with head of communications and change management on key stakeholder messaging.
  • Experience co-ordinating internal governance activities, including preparing reports for Board, Board Committee, Executive Leadership/SteerCo, and Working Groups
