The Role
Southern Ports is recruiting a Port Development Officer to join their team in Esperance on a 6 month fixed-term contract. The Port Development Officer will be responsible for providing proactive administration services to the department to support asset management, engineering services, project delivery and the achievement of the department’s suite of strategic objectives.
Key Duties
- Document control document management requirements;
- Manage asset management RFQ’s and Procurement processes;
- Assist with development and implementation of assets, engineering and project delivery management frameworks;
- Assist with data capture and input to the asset management system and preparation of regular scheduled reports;
- Proactively determine managers requirements and seek to add value by providing support resources with appropriate timing;
- Identify and implement administrative process improvements;
- Proven experience in an administration role with prior exposure to any of the following; engineering, construction projects, planning, planning permits and approvals, document control, finance systems or business processes;
- Excellent computer and software skills (MS Office Suite, Advanced Excel, Financial Reporting, Record keeping);
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills, including the preparation of reports, briefing papers and correspondence;
- A business administration, trade, document control or related qualification will be highly regarded;

Requirements
To be eligible for this role, applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to Esperance and provide proof of Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
The successful applicant must have a current WA driver’s licence, be able to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Access Card and undergo a pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing.
