The opportunity

As the Portfolio Manager, Real Assets, you will develop and evolve externally managed Real Assets portfolio strategies (including Infrastructure, Unlisted Property and Nature Based Solutions) to achieve the target risk and return profile for the allocated funds within investment parameters. You will work to drive oversight, engagement, assessment and decision making processes for externally managed allocations and manage associated portfolios. 

Your new role

Working closely with the Global Head of Externally Managed Funds and the Senior Portfolio Manager, Real Assets, you will;

  • Develop Real Assets portfolio strategies based on the analysis of market dynamics and manager strategies and provide ongoing management of allocations in accordance with investment objectives and guidelines for all nominated portfolios
  • Support impact investment targets and origination through sourcing, due diligence and oversight activities for impact investments supporting the Premiums4Good program
  • Collaborate with Business Operations and other enabling functions to operationalise external manager decisions
  • Build and maintain highly effective relationships within the Externally Managed Funds team and across Group Investments
  • Drive Real Assets investment manager research, selection, due diligence processes and corresponding investment agreement negotiations based upon manager and market analysis 
  • Provide oversight, engagement and assessment of external managers and portfolio positioning 

About you

To be successful as a Portfolio Manager, Real Assets you will have;

  • Solid Infrastructure and Unlisted Property investment experience, with Nature Based Solutions or Forestry experience an advantage
  • Strong understanding of portfolio management theory and practical application, investment styles, investment processes, investment mandates and investment vehicle structures as it relates to Real Assets 
  • Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Finance or Business related discipline, with Post graduate finance qualifications highly regarded
  • Effective problem solving, decision-making, & negotiation skills
