About the Team & the Position
As a business unit of the Digital division, the Portfolio Delivery department manages programs and projects to deliver aligned strategic priorities and digital capabilities across AEMO. The Delivery Services team provide PMO operational support and services to programs and projects within Portfolio Delivery.
The Portfolio Scheduler will assist with the successful delivery of projects across the ‘Operations Technology Portfolio’ by working closely with Portfolio Managers, Program Managers, and Project Managers in planning, creating, and managing project schedules. The scheduler will assist project managers with schedule planning, coordinate tasks, and monitor the timelines of scheduled assignments. They also identify potential scheduling delays and facilitate remedial action. The Scheduler will be consulting with project managers and Portfolio Managers, developing, maintaining, and implementing effective schedule management systems.
Position Responsibilities
- Work closely with Program and Project Managers to develop and maintain detailed schedules using MS Project
- Integrate multiple schedules into a master project schedule, baselining, status, performance measurement baseline.
- Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports Gantt, milestone charts, and other program management tools used to support critical path analysis, near-term tasks work authorizations, priority-based resource allocations, performance variances, and to support cost/schedule integration.
- Supports the portfolio management team in the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects/programs, including dashboard maintenance.
- Develop schedule version control processes, policies, and procedures and ensures that they are followed on product development schedules.
- Work in collaboration with Portfolio Delivery Office Lead, to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting.
- Schedule estimating through elicitation of stakeholders to capture estimations of new work, updated actuals and remaining work.
- Identify major milestones, decision points, project life cycle and other project events.
- Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems.
- Facilitate and participate in weekly schedule reviews
Position Requirements
Skills & Experience:
Strong experience as a Scheduler
- Strong scheduling experience and proven ability to manage complex transformation Program Schedules
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to confidently communicate and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-resolution skills.
- Previous Utility industry experience is highly advantageous.
- Expert level user of scheduling and timeline tools - MS Project, PPM Tools, Excel, JIRA, Power BI
Education/ professional Certifications:
- Certification in a project management competency (Prince2, APM, PMI, etc)
