Full time, fixed term until June 2027Opportunity to join the School of Medical Sciences based within the ANZAC Research Institute at Concord Hospital as a Postdoctoral Research FellowBase Salary starting from $118,390 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityThe School of Medical Sciences is recognised as one of the leading centres for medical science education in the world. Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas.As a Research Fellow, you work as part of a groundbreaking multidisciplinary team located at the ANZAC Research Institute that is focused on understanding how our nanomedicines improve drug delivery and health outcomes.Your key responsibilities will be to:undertake original research (either independently or as part of a team) within discipline or area of expertisemaintain a research profile, including publication of book chapters, peer-reviewed journal articles, conference and/or seminar papersdevelop research collaborations and engage in translational research that result in knowledge or technology transfer leading to commercialisation, improved policy or practice, or enhancement to industry, the profession or communitycontribute to applications for competitive research grants or funding to deliver research impactmaintain quality, standards and excellence in research activities and outputprovide informal mentoring and guidance to lower-level academics and supervise postgraduate research students or projects where appropriatecarry out administrative tasks and contribute to faculty/school meetingsmaintains an understanding of the University’s strategic agenda and contributes to furthering that agendamaintains active involvement with discipline, including assisting with the organisation of seminars, conferences and activities.About youPhD in liver physiology, cell biology or diabetesA background in pharmacology or pharmacyexperience in working on liver based experiments using multi modalities such as microscopy, cell isolations, flow cytometry and proteomicsa keen interest in metabolic signaling pathways, nutrient sensing and/or mitochondrial metabolism and dysfunctiona developing network of national and international relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholdersa developing research profile evidenced by original, high-quality research in the area of liver metabolism, cell biology or drug development.To keep our community safe, please be aware of our which form our conditions of entry for all staff, students and visitors coming to campus.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
