About the opportunity
Reporting to the Powerline Design Team Leader, the Line Design Technical Officer is accountable for the design of overhead and underground distribution and transmission system projects, that are environmentally sound, cost effective and meet all regulatory and SA Power Networks quality and technical standards.
The Line Design Technical Officer is accountable for specifying line route, pole location and footings for new designs or modified line designs. This may require data collection from site and data recording systems.
The Line Design Technical Officerwill:
- Provide designs for power-line assets for the distribution and transmission systems, nominally 415V – 132kV. overhead and underground.
- Provide drawings and schedules for overhead and underground power-line systems.
- Ensure that designs are completed in accordance with regulatory standards and codes.
- Active involvement and support for innovation and continual improvement programs within the group.
- Support the development of standard designs within work group and identify where they can be utilised.
- Ensure designs are delivered in accordance to the scope of work (fit for purpose), on time and to the satisfaction of the customer.
- Ensure efficient integration and co-ordination with other disciplines during design and review meetings.
About you
- Advanced Diploma in Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Knowledge of Distribution and Transmission power line design, 415V -132kV construction, and maintenance methods.
- Experience with risk management
- Australian Standards, Regulations & Legislation
- AutoCAD & PLS-CADD drafting experience.
- Current SA Driver’s license.
