Seeking a dynamic, experienced Practice Manager to oversee established medical center located in Perth- Jupiter Health CBD. Our teams are hard-working, reliable and able to take initiative to help their fellow colleagues. They are passionate about their jobs and genuinely enjoy coming into work.

The Practice Manager plays a very important role in maintaining our dedication to the delivery of excellence in health care, and their experience will help aid our team to success. You will be the first point of contact for all clinical and non-clinical staff, and is responsible for the daily operations of the clinic which include;

  • Lead by Example: Inspire and motivate your team to excel in their roles, achieving and exceeding KPIs.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic. Plan and oversee staffing needs to ensure optimal coverage and labour efficiency within the business.
  • Client Experience: Lead the team to deliver on our Customer Value Proposition and be the one they rave about!
  • Business Growth: Work to increase clinic profitability and expansion.

Responsibilities include:

  • Be a core part of the Leadership Team and be involved in key decision making and proven record of leading by example
  • Lead the human resource’s function, with a key focus on enhancing and strengthening a high-performance culture, via systems, recruitment, induction, performance management, team building and ongoing training
  • Maintain and nurture a positive environment in which a diverse workforce can grow and develop
  • Management of reception and nursing staff
  • Management of rosters and leave for all employees and independent doctors 
  • Recruitment of staff including doctors and allied health practitioners, including contract negotiation with future staff 
  • Manage day-to-day operations including staff resourcing and the maintenance and improvement of existing workflows and processes 
  • Knowledge of Medicare system (Services Australia) including billing, batching, online claiming, MBS interpretation and PRODA including PIP & WIP protocols
  • Understand high performance in general practice (clinical and business) including governance and compliance, profitability, legislative requirements, accreditation, strategic planning and implementation and refining of policies and procedures 
  • Create a productive, friendly and enjoyable work environment
  • Maintain and control debtors, creditors, and general ledger to ensure maximum profitability and cash flow and compliance with all taxation, record keeping and other statutory requirements
  • Knowledge of Health Professionals and Support Services and Nurses Award
  • Directing and maintaining quality improvement activities for clinical and non-clinical staff, creating reports and reporting back to the Directors
  • Ability to build a professional relationship with doctors, administration and nursing staff, allied health practitioners, drug representatives, patients and third-party vendors

Selection Criteria, Essential

  • Previous experience with Best Practice software
  • Have significant experience in a senior practice management role, coupled with proven expertise in organisational culture and capability building 
  • Detailed experience and knowledge of the Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS)

  • Have a vigilant attitude to accuracy, being prepared to double check as necessary.
  • Work cooperatively and independently.
  • Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Following guidelines and communicate with other staff members relaying any updates or changes as necessary with regards to Policies and Procedures 

Other duties

  • Actively participate and coordinate staff meetings, clinical and non-clinical, as required.
  • To undertake all other duties as required from time to time by the Directors.
  • Consistently be aware of changes to OSH requirements and any Award changes and comply with them.
