Royal Park Medical is a GP owned general practice clinic, located in North Melbourne synonymous with comprehensive quality medical care. We are an accredited, fully privately billing clinic with 9 consulting rooms and a busy 3 bay treatment room facility.
We are looking for a full time Practice Manager experienced in primary health to manage and support the directors, management team and staff.
Job Description
The Manager is responsible for providing exceptional leadership and management to the RPM team. Supporting the Directors, independent practitioners, members of the management team, and all staff while fostering a collaborative and harmonious workplace to deliver exceptional services to our patients.
Key duties of the role will include:
- Overseeing and ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day running and operation of the clinic.
- Maintain full accreditation to RACGP standards including keeping policy and procedure and HR/WHS documentation up to date.
- Implementation of the strategic planning goals set by the practice partnership.
- Business development – planning and marketing.
- Engage, lead and recruit the team of employees.
- Ensure staffing numbers meet the requirement to support patients and health professionals.
- Coordinate and liaise with training organisations responsible for medical student and registrar training so trainee doctors are integrated into the practice environment.
- Plan, manage and maintain IT systems; liaise with IT professionals.
- Oversee the provision of accurate and timely financial and practice data; work with the book-keeper to maintain financial records and manage payroll; liaise with practice accountants.
- Foster an organisational culture that always maintains supportive behaviours in the workplace.
Required Experience and Skills
- Previous administrative experience in Health Services (Primary health desirable).
- Excellent understanding of Medicare, insurances and medical software packages.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.

- Demonstrated experience in managing teams and/or multiple sites in a healthcare setting.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including an exceptional capacity to manage relationships with tact and diplomacy.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication.
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills.
- Highly competent in staff recruitment, training, mentoring, coaching and performance management.
- Highly attuned understanding of business operations, financial reporting and compliance in the primary healthcare setting, and reporting at board meetings.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional self-development.
- Completed or actively working towards a Diploma in Practice Management or similar (highly desirable).
