Legal Practice Coordinator, you will hold a diverse and rewarding role in providing essential support to the efficient coordination and administration of the Department's in-house
Legal Practice. You will assist in the development of appropriate processes and systems that ensure efficient operations and data management and will establish and maintain effective relationships within the Legal and Legislation Branch, the Corporate Services Group and the Department to facilitate partnerships across relevant teams.The role is also accountable for providing a complete administrative function, including but not limited to maintaining the office of the General Counsel, which can include coordinating or contributing to business planning, business continuity and records management, accounts processing, human resource reporting and project management, coordination of briefing material and the development and maintenance of matter management and administrative support systems and procedures. The role will also assist with recruitment processes and the induction of new staff.
The TeamThe position of
Legal Practice Coordinator forms a part of the Legal and Legislation branch within the Corporate Services group. This Branch provides legal advice and legislation services to the department and its ministers. This includes the drafting of commercial and other agreements, review of contracting and grant arrangements, advice on dispute resolution and management of litigation as well as advice on statutory decision making and statutory interpretation.
