The Organisation
Barwon Community Legal Service is an independent not-for-profit organisation providing free legal services to vulnerable community members experiencing disadvantage. Our main office is in Belmont and we assist clients at a number of outreach locations in the Barwon region, and at Geelong and Colac Magistrates courts.

The Role
The Legal Practice Coordinator will lead the client intake function and provide essential administrative support to our legal team. As part of an integrated multi-function team, you will contribute to the efficient coordination and administration of our Legal Practice
The work will be varied. You will manage team workflow and handle client intake processes, including needs identification, informing clients about available services, and providing referrals. Additionally, you will provide basic IT support to the legal team, cordinate volunteer students including recruitment, planning and onboarding, and backfill reception duties when needed. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of the Legal Practice and the delivery of comprehensive legal services to the community.

You are someone who possesses a strong commitment to social justice and a genuine desire to make a difference in the community. You have a proven track record of success in legal administration or a related high-level administrative role, along with experience in supervising staff and delivering excellent customer service. Your sharp mind and proactive approach enable you to learn and adapt quickly to new systems and processes. With exceptional organisational skills and the ability to lead a small team, you excel in managing competing priorities and ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day tasks. Your compassionate nature, coupled with excellent communication skills, allows you to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike, fostering a positive and inclusive working environment. The Offer
- Full-time position - 38 hours per week
- SCHADS Award level 5. Annual base salary $93,859 plus superannuation, leave loading and salary packaging
- Five weeks annual leave and three free leave days between Christmas and New Year
