General Practice nursing is a rewarding role with exposure to many aspects of nursing without the requirement for working shift work or weekends.
The practice team consists of General Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Administrative staff. A pathology service is available on site.
We are seeking a caring and experienced RN to join our team. We offer a friendly supportive environment in which Practice Nurses work closely with GP’s to deliver high quality patient care.
Professional development is supported and encouraged.
Your day to day activities may include:
- Wound care
- Triage (over the phone & in person)
- Immunisations
- Chronic Disease management
- Health Assessments
- Procedures, including ECG, & assisting with minor surgical procedures
- Patient education, support and building links to the community
- Infection control
- Stock maintenance and ordering
Hours of work are between 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday per week negotiable.
You will need:
- AHPRA registration
- Professional indemnity cover
- Knowledge of infection control
- Current CPR certificate
- A team focus and flexible approach to work
Ideally you will have:
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, with the skills to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to respond to patients' needs in a friendly manner
- Childhood immunisation would be an advantage.
