SalaryBayside Eye Clinic is a new, state of the art ophthalmology specialist practice in Cleveland and is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced nurse for a casual position. Candidates with nursing experience and a willingness to learn ophthalmic skills are welcome to apply. Previous experience working in an ophthalmology or optometry practice is not essential as all necessary training will be provided.
The role will involve:
- Performing preliminary eye testing - including Visual Acuity, Intraocular pressure testing, pupil examination. All training provided
- Performing necessary auxillary testing including optical coherence tomography (OCT), Biometry, Corneal Topography and Humphrey Visual Field testing. Again all training provided
- Supporting the ophthalmologist with minor procedures eg intravitreal injections, minor eyelid procedures
Important attributes of the successful candidate would also include:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent rapport with patients
