You will be working as part of our Care Team alongside 2 passionate Skin Cancer doctors and an experienced Registered Nurse who are dedicated to the practice's core values: patient care, exceptional standards, and continual improvement.
Key responsibilities:
- Work part or full time from 3-5 days per week on a fixed roster basis
- Assisting doctors with excisions and procedures (including skin flaps and grafts)
- Dressings, wound care and suture removal
- Operating the 3D Total Body Photography service (basic training provided, opportunity for further studies/development)
- Operating the White Light Photodynamic Therapy service (training provided)
- Cleaning and sterilising of surgical instruments
- Assisting doctors with patient flow and note taking
- Organising and maintaining clinical areas
- Educating patients on wound care and Skin Cancer prevention/awareness
- Responsibility for stock control
You are organised and reliable, taking the initiative to complete your responsibilities in a timely manner. Your caring nature compliments your articulate communication and exceptional interpersonal skills, allowing you to provide the highest standard of patient care and service. An essential role at the centre of our business.
You have:
- Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse (EN) or relevant Certificate III-level qualification as an Assistant in Nursing (AIN)
- Minimum 1 year experience in a clinic/practice setting (Skin Cancer experience advantageous)
Key skills:
- Understanding of sterile processes
- Understanding of routine wound care
- High level of IT literacy, able to use common medical software fluently and adapt to new software/devices
- Awareness of common practice processes and willingness to adopt to our processes, assisting in their further development as required
- Enjoy working in a small, growing, team with an ethos of continuous improvement
- Good self presentation, with an articulate, clear, and caring approach to the patient/customer relationship
- Self motivation with initiative and a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work with a wide range of people and manage changes in workflow
