A very exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious nurse to join Yarra Vascular Surgeons - a rapidly expanding vascular surgery group practice. The position is available for part time or full time capacity. Our vision is to provide comprehensive care to patients in Victoria in all areas of vascular surgery, including varicose veins management, chronic wound care, cosmetic vein treatment and more. There are currently 3 surgeons in the group and associated specialists. We encourage individuals to grow within our organisation and so we believe as a nurse joining us you will be in a great position to enjoy this growth. Ideally a vascular nurse practitioner or experienced vascular nurse consultant would suit this position, but we will value an enthusiastic individual who aspires to learn and rise to that level of competence. Our main locations include Heidelberg, Epping, Richmond and Bendigo.
Some of our essential and desirable qualities for this position include:
- Register Nurse (current registration) with at least 3 years clinical experience
- Must be kind and caring and put patient well-being and care above all else
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have technical competence and clinical experience in chronic wound dressing, history taking and patient record management
- Must be able to travel within metropolitan Melbourne and also occasional travel to regional sessions in Victoria eg Bendigo
- Must be able to work closely with clinicians, administration and sonographers to achieve complex tasks
- Highly desirable: Experience working with vascular patients in inpatient and outpatient settings, experience with graduated compression stockings and experience as scrub nurse for procedures
- Desirable: Experience in cosmetic laser treatment
- Desirable: Business acumen and commercial awareness
- Preferred: Experience in the provision of adult education and training
- Ability to deal with multiple priorities and short time lines from time to time
- Demonstrated competence in computer literacy with knowledge of MS Office and Outlook
- Project management experience an asset
- Active involvement in relevant nursing societies is desirable
- Ability to interpret and maximise use of clinical data
- Excellent presentation skills
