About the Role

Due to our continued growth/success, we are looking for suitably qualified and experienced Pre-Contract Manager to join Monford team. Some of your key responsibilities will include;

  • Ensure the continuity of incoming tenders, including the establishment of new client relationships and evaluation of upcoming public tenders.
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end tender/bid process from leads to contract execution, ensuring regular review of the tender process to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement the pre-contracts strategy on a quarterly basis to align with the business strategy.
  • Manage the team to compile bid submissions and ensure all documents issued to the client are presented professionally.
  • Oversee downstream tender inquiries to ensure alignment with company procedures.
  • Review contracts and negotiate favourable terms to align with Monford's corporate risk profile.
  • Lead post-tender negotiations. Regularly report on the progression of tenders and proposals.
  • Conduct a commercial review of bid submission proposals and ensure all risks and opportunities are identified and accounted for.

About You

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following; 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying / Construction Economics or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7+ years’ relevant experience in a similar role with 15+ years’ experience within the construction industry.
  • Demonstrated competency in managing numerous tenders concurrently.
  • The ability to understand client requirements and drivers to efficiently manage client relationships.
  • High level of proficiency in estimating software such as, Expert Estimation, CostX, ProEst.
  • A proven ability to understand both technical and commercial aspects of key project requirements.
  • Ability to build and manage a high performing team in a high-pressure environment.
  • A good understanding of current and forecasted market conditions and the ability to translate forecasted trends into the pre-contract strategy.
