Expressions of interest are invited from diploma qualified early childhood educators or early childhood teachers interested in leading our preschool program at Linuwel Steiner School.
Responsibilities:
- Early childhood educator for service licensed for 16 children/day
- Development of the children’s program in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework and Steiner Early Childhood Pedagogy
- Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of each child
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents/ carers to meet the needs of each child.
- Providing an environment that encourages imaginative and creative expression to nourish each child’s whole being
- Differentiation of teaching and learning programs to enable students with disability to access a quality Steiner early education on the same basis as their peers
- Guidance/ support and general supervision of staff, including a co-teacher and teaching assistant, and volunteers
- Administering first aid as required
- Maintaining relevant documentation and reporting.
Also required: Sound knowledge of the requirements under the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework including keeping documentary evidence to meet compliance and Assessment and Rating obligations.
Our Early Childhood teachers are part of our College of Teachers, so attend and participate in meetings of the College as well as meetings of the Early Childhood Realm. These meetings often occur after the school day.
Our preschool is a part of our school community and participates in seasonal celebrations and festivals. The successful applicant will liaise with colleagues in the Primary and Secondary realms to plan and prepare children for these celebrations.
To be considered for this role, you will have training and/or experience in Early Childhood Steiner Education or a willingness to undertake professional learning in Steiner Education in the future.
Linuwel is a Child Safe school. A Working With Children Clearance must be provided prior to commencement.
