In collaboration with the Clinical Manager, Clinical Nurse Endoscopy and the Gastroenterology Coordinator you will assess the needs of the ERA Area, plan and deliver a high level of service to all customers and evaluate that service continuously.
You will participate in aspects of endoscopic work including scope reprocessing, drying cabinet use, identification and implementation of remedial action in relation to scope and Soluscope maintenance. You may participate if deemed competent in scope / Soluscope environmental testing - performance of and remedial action in regards to negative outcomes.
Other Responsibilities:
- Initiates remedial action of maintenance of reported problems and equipment faults
- Participate in preventative maintenance of equipment and scopes
- Initiate and monitor daily control checks and evaluate results
- Maintain the departments information, scope testing and scope repairs manual
- Maintain work practices and ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures and standards
Join Us If You Have:
- Successful completion of Olympus Endoscope Reprocessing Workshop (desirable) or willingness to undertake
- Successful completion of GENCA Fundamentals of Endoscopy Reprocessing (desirable) or willingness to undertake
- Knowledge and understanding of interior workings of scopes (desirable) or willingness to learn
- Recent and relevant experience within an ERA is desirable but not essential
- Sound knowledge of GENCA Guidelines - Infection Control and Endoscopy, and AS4187 Standards relevant to Endoscopy is desirable or willingness to learn.
- Demonstrated evidence of self-education and a commitment to ongoing professional development
