About the Opportunity
The Entrance Preschool Kindergarten is a not for profit community organisation managed by a voluntary Management Committee made up of parents of the organisation. We are seeking a highly skilled Director/Nominated Supervisor who demonstrates a commitment to delivering a high quality Service for children, families, staff and the community.
We are a 39 place non-profit community based preschool that operates 8:00am to 3:30pm during the NSW Dept of Education school terms only.
What you’ll be doing in this role
In this exciting role you will need the ability to inspire, motivate, lead and maintain a positive learning culture for our dedicated and longstanding team of families and educators.
Your work will include:
- Developing positive relationships that support children, their families and our community.
- Provide consistent and visible leadership in WH&S behaviours and actions within the team.
- Contribute to the continuous development and evaluation and improvements to the service.
- Commitment to providing and maintaining a safe and supportive work environment that is inclusive of all staff.
- Able to establish, foster and nurture collaborative partnerships with families and our local communities
- Provide a cohesive relationship with management committee.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Centre Director/Nominated Supervisor
- Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood qualification
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Education and Care Service National Law and National Regulations
- Excellent knowledge of the NQS, EYLF and teaching pedagogy
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current 1st Aid, Anaphylaxis, Asthma Management & CPR certificates
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills
- Demonstrates an understanding of governance principles and able to model best practice
- CHCPRT001 – Identify and Respond to Children and Young People & Risk
Preferred Criteria
- Community Based / Non Profit Preschool experience and knowledge
- Knowledge of the RAP – Reconciliation Action Plan
- Knowledge of the Dept of Education Start Strong, Disability Inclusion and Fee Relief Funding programs
- Good understanding of budgeting and finance operations
