We're excited to be on the lookout for an exceptional commercial and financial specialist to join our Customer and Community team, to manage the financial and governance functions of the division, as well as support the commercial and contractual negotiations for Horizon Power's major energy supply agreements.
In conjunction with our Finance division, you will be overseeing the P&L, budget and performance reporting, as well as pricing modelling for contestable customers in a highly regulated environment, so your ability to manage multiple aspects of the financial and commercial sphere is essential. In addition, you will be supporting the commercial evaluation of new energy opportunities (including renewable energy initiatives) so your knowledge of the energy industry will be highly advantageous.
Your new role will include:
- In conjunction with the Finance division, manage the Customer and Community division's financial function, ensuring accountability for divisional performance.
- Undertake financial modelling for business plan formulation and lead project management reporting and financial performance for the division, with a focus on renewable energy products and new energy supply opportunities.
- Manage the Divisional and individual Group commercial and contractual function, including providing specialist advice; ensuring that all contract activities are aligned with Horizon Power's Procurement Policy
- Manage the financial and modelling tasks associated with all customer negotiations for any contract customer including the supporting the Demand and Energy Forecasting process and development and maintenance of associated pricing policies.
- Perform economic and commercial energy modelling and development to support the division for product commercialisation and sales of renewable energy initiatives.
- Provide detailed sales and cost of goods sold analysis for whole of business.
- Provide risk and governance oversight for the division, including ensuring that divisional activities comply with legal, regulatory and policy requirements.
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership and provide employees and contractors with a safe working environment.
- Degree or tertiary qualifications in Economics, Accounting or a related discipline. Electrical Engineering qualifications with strong financial experience will also be considered.
- Demonstrated experience in financial modelling.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial documentation in either utility, mining or energy purchasing, with commercial and construction contracting, IP matters, contract risk management and mitigation and relevant insurances.
- Experience managing a team within a regulatory environment.
- Experience developing and embedding new processes, methodologies and ways of working into an operational environment.
- Ability to develop and implement procurement strategies and participate in complex negotiations.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
